Welcome
The world of virtual marching is an innovative breakthrough in online gaming.

Virtual marching is an internet simulation game created for those diehard marching band fans during the offseason. All you need is an email address to play, and because of that virtual marching has grown incredibly within a short amount of time. The following page contains the basics of gameplay. When you're finished reading, follow the instructions to create and manage your own virtual marching band.

The Object Of The Game is to travel around the country competing agains other bands trying to achieve a perfect score from the judges

How To Play
1. You must name your band, decide what your show is, and create your band's "personality" through point distributions.
2. Every week you recieve 2 emails: A scoresheet and a newsletter.
The scoresheet contains all of that week's scores from all competitions, as well as how many points and how much money your band has won.
The newsletter contains all new information about the iBA and surrounding organizations.
3. After receiving your scoresheet, you may redistribute your points, buy props, or hire staff. Be cautious, though, because you can only do this once a week.
4. The following competition will follow with a scoresheet and newsletter. The process is repeated until the season is over.

Your Band's Personality is determined by how you distribute your 500 points.
You will receive 500 points to begin your season with. Your task is to distribute these points between 11 captions and 2 motives. The more points you have in a caption, the better your band is at that particular characteristic. Your motives, "Instruction" and "Morale", determine your band's ability to teach and learn. The higher your "Instruction" motive, the more effective your staff is at teaching. The higher your "Morale" motive, the better your students can learn. Visit the Scoring Center to learn about your 11 captions.
In addition to 500 points, you will receive $15,000 in "electronic" money to fund your band. With this money you can buy props, higher more staff, and enter into competitions. Why would you want to buy props and staff? They bring you extra points each week, raising your scores. Visit the Budget Center to learn the details about budgeting.
